The Imagination Library
According to Psychology Today, “Reading to babies as young as six months of age leads to stronger vocabularies and better early literacy skills four years later, just as the children are getting ready to go to school.”
This fantastic program provides books to all Tuolumne County Children from ages 0-5, mailed directly to them, at no cost. It is a great way to build your child’s love of reading, boost brain development, and is a great way to relax at bedtime. Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans four countries and mails over 1 million free books each month to children around the world.
