The Special Education IEP process can be challenging to understand and implement for teachers, administrators and parents. The purpose of this four-part ninety-minute workshop series will be to provide teachers, administrators and classified staff with an understanding of the IEP process as it relates to the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 and other requirements of federal and state law. Participants are welcome to sign up for one or all sessions according to interest and background. While participants are encouraged to attend all the sessions, power point materials will be available for all sessions.
Session I: Topics will include the definition of a free and appropriate public education (FAPE), child find, assessments/reports, independent evaluations, and hot topics (as time permits).
