Event Details
Students raise salmon or trout from eggs to small fish in their classrooms and then release the fish into the wild. The goal of this program is for the students to learn to be informed stewards of the watersheds in which they live. The program correlates with numerous CDE Common Core and NGSS standards. To start participating in the program, teachers must attend a workshop. The workshop is free. Equipment, if it is available, will be lent to you. Many teachers obtain grant money or funding through other sources for the equipment that is needed. Sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Central Region.
