ShakeOut isn’t just another drill — it’s a moment to build confidence, community, and readiness. On Thursday, October 16, 2025, students, staff, families, and community partners across Tuolumne County will practice the three-step earthquake safety move together.
We invite everyone to participate in this statewide event that reminds us how to stay safe when the ground starts to shake.

Why Participate?
-
Earthquakes can happen anytime. Practicing helps instincts kick in when they count.
-
It builds awareness of what steps to take before, during, and after a quake.
-
It reinforces a culture of safety and resilience across our school communities.
When & Where
Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025
Time: 10:16 a.m.

How to Participate
-
Plan your drill:
-
Identify safe spots in every room (under desks, sturdy furniture, away from windows).
-
Decide how to account for participants (roll call, buddy system).
-
Review “what’s next” steps (evacuation route, communication plan).
-
-
At drill time: Drop, Cover, and Hold On for at least 60 seconds.
-
After the drill: Debrief. What went well? What needs more practice?
