The Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools would like to remind families, staff, and community partners that all TCSOS offices and programs will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country. Observed nationwide, the holiday serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day.
Originally known as Decoration Day following the Civil War, Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971. Today, communities across the nation recognize the occasion through ceremonies, moments of reflection, and acts of remembrance.
As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to honor those who served and sacrificed for our nation.
TCSOS offices and programs will reopen on Tuesday, May 26.
