The School Attendance Review Board (SARB) Department at the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools provides an Annual Attendance Training for Supervisors of Attendance focused on equipping school attendance teams with the knowledge and practical tools needed to improve attendance, ensure compliance, and better support students and families.
The training covers education law related to compulsory attendance, truancy, and chronic absenteeism; expectations for accurate CALPADS reporting; and the SARB referral process, including timelines and required documentation.
Participants will also review best practices for:
- Early identification of attendance concerns
- Attendance intervention strategies
- Family engagement and communication
- Consistent attendance procedures across districts
- Documentation and compliance requirements
This training is designed to build consistency across districts while providing clear, actionable guidance that staff can confidently apply in their day-to-day work.
