Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools has earned Blue Zones Project Approved status, recognizing their commitment to support healthy choices for students, staff & the community. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on August 25th to celebrate this accomplishment, with staff in attendance.
The initiative was led by County Superintendent Zack Abernathy in collaboration with the Blue Zones Project, with an emphasis on employee well-being & support. TCSOS has many healthy opportunities for staff including healthy food options at meetings, wellness seminars, ergonomic workstations, opportunities for community involvement, and paid time off & remote work policies.
Bike racks were installed on the TCSOS campus as part of their sustainability plan. A walking challenge was also recently held to encourage employees to walk more during the work-day. All of these initiatives play a huge role in an employee’s well-being and success.
TCSOS joins several other school districts in the county with Blue Zones Project Approved status.
