The Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools offices and programs will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in observance of Labor Day.

Labor Day is more than just a long weekend—it is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of working people across the country, including the dedicated educators and school staff who support student learning here in Tuolumne County.

Did you know?

  • The Chicago Teachers Federation, founded in 1897, was the first teachers’ union in the U.S., established to improve conditions for educators.

  • The first Labor Day parade occurred in 1882 in New York City, with more than 20,000 workers participating to celebrate the value of work in American life.

  • Education Support Professionals—such as paraprofessionals, office staff, bus drivers, food service workers, and custodians—are essential members of school teams, helping students learn and thrive every day.

This Labor Day, we extend our gratitude to every member of our educational community for the dedication and care you bring to supporting students and families.

We wish you a safe and restful holiday weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back after the break.
